Mixed Media in Progress
Hi I’m currently working on this mixed media painting.
I began with an acrylic wash, drew the images, then included the collage, next I applied gesso over the entire surface. This piece is different, in that I’ve used clear gesso for the first time. It’s provided my with a gorgeous matt surface to then complete the painting in oils.
I’ve decided to finish this piece with oils (first time), as I love the buttery richness of oils. Also, I’m using a minimum of oil in my medium, it’s predominately turpentine. This is giving me a less shiney finish than I would get with more oil in the mixture.
