Knowing…Walking Painting In Progress

In progress: Walking In This World oil over collage on birch ply panel 30x60cm
This week’s Wishcasting Wednesday question is:
What do you wish to know?
Thing is, I DO know.
I know my work, my path, my dreams.
I know myself.
I got to this place by going deeply into myself both alone & in therapy.
A massive breakdown ( hehe spiritual breakthrough- thanks Brene Brown) in 2008 brought with it, an artistic breakthrough.
I have worked continually on my art for nearly 30 years.
I have been paralysed, artistically, by doubt, fears, uncertainty.
I always gotten back on the horse.
Never gave up, not because I’m a superhero, but because I couldn’t.
I know what I need to know, for now.

I’d like to share my in progress painting Walking In This World.
Love the branches I’ve drawn in with charcoal.
Not something I could repeat often, but it’s right for this painting.
Her face is looking very pink, at this stage. This is due to the contrast with the blue/green.
The overly pink colour will be adjusted with the final layer of paint.
As I write this, I’m itching to take sandpaper to her walking stick.
Sandpaper will break up an area too solid & dark for such a delicate painting.
Love the ethereal feel to this painting.
Let’s see if I can keep it that way ;-)
